A touching story of a simpler time, youth, love, and heartbreak. And an especially sentimental read for someone like me, who held hands with a special boy one summer, and enjoyed carefree days at Lincoln Park.

This was an awesome book! We all want to believe that our presence on earth has made an impact & reading about the childhood friendships here reminds us of that. Each of our lives is like a book & every person who crosses our path and every experience we have forns the final chapter of our life - and who we are. Great read that is a wonderful reminder of that.
Steve is an amazing writer. He has a unique ability to make you feel so much when you read his books. I've been fortunate to read some of them prior to them being published, as he's been a friend for a very long time. I would recommend all of his stories, but I have to say "The Rocking Chair" has always been my favorite!
Definitely read Steve's work. You will never be disappointed.

The chapter dedicated to the kids' full day at Lincoln Park, described in all its hey-day glory, is worth the purchase price of this charmer.
